When did US go through industrialization, electrification, and when was illiteracy almost eliminated in US?

The US was a heavily industrialized nation by the end of the Civil War. With Germany it then led the Second Industrial Revolution. To take one example, by 1900 one US steel producer -- one company -- outproduced the entire British steel industry. FDR had squat to do with the industrialization of America.
