Where's the best place to find Protists?

I would look at a nice pool of standing water (not a puddle) where a lot of algae are growing. It might be tough to find a selection of protists in the winter, though. If you can find such a place, you'll probably find lots of Paramecium sp, Vorticella, Amoeba sp, and Stentor, which you can identify from a book...
