Too much yarn, not enough to do (Please See Details)?

To start off with, I've got (literally) trash bags full of various types of yarn that an old family friend gave to me a year before she ped away, and she was a very dedicated crocheter (the very reason I want to make things for others from it, instead of selling it.) I've *really* been looking (and wanting) for Hospitals or different organizations in my area (Northern, VA) that I can crochet a whole LOT of different items for, (Preferably so I wouldn't have to pay all the shipping costs) but haven't had any luck yet. :( So, I'm currently in the process of surfing the web for such groups/organizations, but apparently I'm typing in the wrong search words because I can't seem to find what I'm looking for! Can anyone help?! I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions or links to sites IN or out of my area . . . Thanks!
