Can you be a gun loving pacifist?

I've considered for the longest time my stance on self defense. I have always supported someone's right to own a gun and protect themselves, even without government restriction accept local concealed carry permits. I myself am a gun owner. But when I received a handgun for Christmas, I was weary about it. I love to go to the range, but I would never want to kill someone with a gun. Even if someone broke into my house with the intent to kill me, I'm debating trying not to kill the person at all cost, even if that means losing my own life. After all, I believe in heaven, so not biggy. I just don't ever want to be responsible for the death of another human. The only case I would ever go so far as to kill someone would be if they had the intent to kill my family. What do you think? Can you be a gun loving pacifist?
